AKP's Şahin targets Burcu Köksal: 'Those tasked with deceiving nationalist voters...'

AKP Afyonkarahisar Provincial Chair Turgay Şahin targeted Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal, who did not attend the CHP rally following the arrest of Istanbul Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer on charges of being a member of the PKK terrorist organization, stating, "With the exception of a few CHP municipalities tasked with deceiving nationalist voters, the others have rushed to the designated location to discredit the terror investigation."

'TO DECEIVE NATIONALIST VOTERS...'

Şahin spoke at his party's weekly regular press conference. Evaluating Mayor Köksal's absence from the rally, Mayor Şahin said the following:

"While our geography has turned into a ring of fire, Esenyurt was abandoned to the terrorist organization through the 'city consensus' formula while members of the terrorist organization were wreaking havoc. It is significant that a campaign has been launched against the investigation conducted into a mayor whose frequency and number of meetings with members of the terrorist organization would make even the barons of Qandil jealous. It has emerged that 'city consensus' actually meant a consensus and sharing of will with terror and the terrorist organization. With the exception of a few CHP municipalities tasked with deceiving nationalist voters, the others have rushed to the designated location to discredit the terror investigation. Municipal administration is just municipal administration."

On the other hand, Mayor Köksal has not made any statement regarding her non-attendance at the rally.
