Criticizing CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, Çelik said, "While we continue to produce services, he has committed one of the greatest exploitations of Atatürk in the history of the Republic by claiming that Atatürk told his own party to 'win these provinces,' thereby inventing a fabrication of his own."
Ömer Çelik, speaking at a rally held by his party in front of the Murat Göğebakan Cultural Center in the Ceyhan district, stated that Ceyhan is very valuable.
Recalling that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a speech saying, "Atatürk tells us 'be successful, take this, this, and this province'," Çelik continued as follows:
"While we continue to produce services, he has committed one of the greatest exploitations of Atatürk in the history of the Republic by claiming that Atatürk told his own party to 'win these provinces,' thereby inventing a fabrication of his own.
What Atatürk desired is for our Republic to strengthen and gain power on the path to our country's full independence, and for Turkey to be strong in every field in a way that defends its sovereign rights.
Regarding this, strengthening Turkey's sovereignty, fighting against terrorist organizations that have designs on Turkey's sovereignty, strengthening our Republic, strengthening our democracy, and achieving great works and great deeds in every field have been realized under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."
"WE ARE TRANSPARENT"
Çelik stated that during the presidential election, the opposition was on one hand exploiting Atatürk while on the other hand forming various tables with those who support terrorism, and that they conducted an election campaign by making secret protocols with different parties at the same time and lying to the citizens.
Explaining that they learned about these "secret dealings" after the election, Çelik said, "We learned about them as the confessions started to come out one by one after the election. Now we are waiting with curiosity. Let's see what bargains will emerge after this election, and what confessions will follow one after another? But we are transparent. Whatever we say in the presence of the citizens, that is what is on our minds. Whatever we say to the people of Ceyhan, that is what we desire for Turkey."
