Making statements after the AKP MYK meeting, AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik spoke about the current agenda. While stating that they are working on issues that have emerged regarding the goal of a Turkey without terrorism, Çelik said, "We are also on alert against sabotage that some states may carry out using proxy forces to ensure that terrorism in the region does not end. There have been no concessions made. Even if our names are different, our surname is the Republic of Turkey. Both we and the countries in the region will benefit from this."

In his speech, Çelik used the expressions, "We see people talking about what concessions the state has made as we enter the MYK meeting. There is no 'give-and-take' process regarding the qualities of the state and the nation. The essential thing is that all problems are solved through democratic means."

EMPHASIS ON 'WHATEVER IT IS CALLED'

Key highlights from Ömer Çelik's statements are as follows:

"When the politics of those who want to lead the region into chaos and those who want to cause more pain and tears for the peoples of the region are taken into account, the message given in terms of strengthening the internal front through the unity of all our citizens is the core of a vision that encompasses the entire Middle East, as well as the message in the approach of a Turkey without terrorism. We have also demonstrated in this way that we do not want any terrorist formations in terms of Iraq and Syria. The principles are clear and explicit: the laying down of arms, the dissolution of the terrorist organization, and its disbandment with all its branches. Our goal is to remove all these terrorist structures, whatever they may be called, from being an element of instability in the region. We have tried to put forward a politics of brotherhood to further strengthen brotherhood. We said that if any state or its affiliated proxy elements point weapons at our Kurdish, Arab, or Turkish brothers—whoever they may be—or at the people of the region, Turkey will stand against it, and we are continuing this decisively. We have a very broad and multi-dimensional approach. We have seen that when an attempt is made to take a step toward the dissolution of terrorist organizations, some states have tried to sabotage it."

WE ARE WELL AWARE OF COVERT ACTIVITIES

"After the revolution in Syria, one of the most striking pieces of news was the discovery of uniforms belonging to certain terrorist organizations in some state bases. When headquarters A is captured, the uniforms of headquarters B are found. These are events that give us ideas. We are well aware that there are complex situations in the region and that there are covert activities. Our President underlined that the necessary care should be shown for a Turkey without terrorism. One must be careful about every issue, from the language used to acts of sabotage.

We are also on alert against sabotage that some states may carry out using proxy forces to ensure that terrorism in the region does not end. There have been no concessions made. Even if our names are different, our surname is the Republic of Turkey. Both we and the countries in the region will benefit from this."

NO 'GIVE-AND-TAKE' PROCESS

"We see people talking about what concessions the state has made as we enter the MYK meeting. There is no 'give-and-take' process regarding the qualities of the state and the nation. The essential thing is that all problems are solved through democratic means. The solution to these problems is more democracy. It is the further increase of the operational power of politics. Some people are using incorrect rhetoric toward the families of martyrs. Our President has always had his first iftar with the families of martyrs. Our martyrs made this sacrifice for the unity of this country; we are aware of this, and we hold it in high regard. We will protect this trust—that is, our homeland being free and independent, the preservation of our unity, and our walking toward the future with the firmest steps. No step that would hurt the families of martyrs will be taken.

Claims that we would never accept are being made. There are claims that certain regulations will be made regarding the definition of the Constitution, the flag, the state, and the nation.

We will not abandon our politics of brotherhood. Our historical consciousness has shown that the unity of Turks and Kurds, and the unity of Alevis and Sunnis, is possible. The enemies of Turkey do not want this. The hostility of those who try to sow discord among us targets us all. We will resist those who stand in the way of this. We will reach this result with the dissolution of the terrorist organization. We will maintain our vigilance against those who try to profit from terrorism and against the breaking of promises. It is a process that must be followed carefully and where one must be meticulous against sabotage."
