AKP Youth Branch President assaults young woman at concert: 'My face was covered in blood'

25-year-old Fatma Banu Çoban, who attended the Sefo concert at the walnut festival held in Kırşehir's Kaman district on October 13, was assaulted by AKP Keskin Youth Branch President Melih Ünlüer.

It was learned that Çoban, who was taken to the hospital with a broken nose and underwent surgery, has seen the AKP request the resignation of Melih Ünlüer. Following her surgery, Çoban made a statement to the Kırşehir Haber Türk newspaper.

'HE PUNCHED ME AND I FELL TO THE GROUND'

Describing the incident she experienced after the surgery, Fatma Banu Çoban said the following:

"Melih Ünlüer's wife made comments like, 'This is our spot, how can you pass through here?' I told her that this area was empty. The gentleman's arm touched me a few times. I warned him. He didn't even pay attention or respond. Because another young person accidentally touched his wife, he threatened the young person, saying, 'How can you touch my wife?' and showed a card. Later, he started speaking to me in an inappropriate manner regarding the space. I then warned the person I later learned was his wife, saying, 'Could you tell your partner to speak to us more appropriately?' The woman then grabbed me by the collar, saying, 'How can you talk to me like that?' Just as I was about to say, 'What are you doing?', her husband Melih Ünlüer punched me and I fell to the ground. The punch hit the right side of my face. His fist was the size of my face because he was quite a large person. Later, I stood up. My friend next to me said, 'Sister, your face.' I didn't understand at first, but when I touched my face, it was covered in blood. No one from the surroundings came to help. There was quite a bit of pushing and shoving because the woman was coming at me."

'HE WAS BRAGGING AT THE CONCERT ABOUT HOW HE HIT THE GIRL'

Stating that Melih Ünlüer then dragged his wife by the hair and left the scene, Fatma Banu Çoban said, "They took me to the police. Later, the police took me to the ambulance. While waiting there by the ambulance, the gentleman sent his wife to Kırıkkale, and he himself was bragging in the concert area, saying, 'How I hit that girl.' If my cousin hadn't seen him talking like that, we might not have been able to find the person. Melih Ünlüer is denying the incident, claiming he never saw or knew us, despite having my bloodstains on him. I have also filed a complaint against his wife. The lady is saying, 'I am also filing a complaint against them, they assaulted me too.' If I assaulted you, why didn't you go to the hospital and get a medical report for assault?"
