AKP Zonguldak Central District Chair Sezer Köroğlu announced that he has left his post following a board meeting held at the party headquarters. Köroğlu stated that his decision was made of his own free will.
In his statement, Köroğlu expressed that the decision was not easy, adding that there was no resentment or hard feelings behind his resignation. “I simply have some responsibilities in my life that I feel I have neglected. Now it is time to pay them their due,” Köroğlu said.
Thanking the organization members he worked with during his tenure, Köroğlu expressed his gratitude to Zonguldak deputies Ahmet Çolakoğlu, Muammer Avcı, and Saffet Bozkurt, as well as board members, municipal and provincial council chairs, neighborhood and village organizations, and the women's and youth branches.
Köroğlu also thanked his family, expressing his gratitude to his wife, children, and relatives for the patience and understanding they showed throughout the process.
I am leaving my post, not my cause. My belief and loyalty to this sacred cause that we walk under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will remain the same today and tomorrow as it was yesterday.
Describing his resignation as “a farewell to a position,” Köroğlu asked for the blessing of the organization members, saying, “The duty ends, but the cause does not; positions change, but friendships do not. Paths may part, but hearts do not.” It was noted that after his statement, Köroğlu was sent off with applause by the party members in the hall.
