Within the framework of the local election calendar to be held on March 31, 2024, the AKP, which has completed its preliminary polls and is focusing on candidate identification efforts, has also accelerated its campaign activities.
In this context, the AKP, which has built its campaign on the claim of "real municipalism," has determined the main slogan to be used in this process as "Turkey knows, real municipalism is AK Party."
The party is focusing on the dates of January 7 and January 15 to initiate the propaganda process and introduce candidates within the election calendar.
TWO DATES STAND OUT
Accordingly, the dates of January 7, when it is planned to announce a group of metropolitan mayoral candidates, primarily for Istanbul, or January 15, when it is planned to announce a total of 74 candidates—28 metropolitan and 46 non-metropolitan provinces—at the same time, stand out.
If the January 7 calendar is implemented for candidate introductions, it is planned that some metropolitan mayoral candidates will be presented at the Haliç Congress Center; if the January 15 calendar is implemented—which stands out as the date when AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced his candidacy for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality 30 years ago—it is planned that the candidates will be shared with the public through a program to be held at the Ankara Sports Hall.
