Akşener had declared 'war'! Selvi: 'İmamoğlu's re-election is at risk'

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi stated that the decision by IYI Party leader Meral Akşener to enter elections alone, including in Istanbul and Ankara, puts Ekrem İmamoğlu's re-election at risk.

"IT HAS STARTED TO HAVE A BOOMERANG EFFECT"

Selvi wrote the following in his column today:

"Politics is about increasing the number of friends and decreasing the number of enemies. But Ekrem İmamoğlu is doing the exact opposite.

1- At the CHP convention, he made Kılıçdaroğlu his enemy. Kılıçdaroğlu speaks to the party members he meets about the danger of Ekrem İmamoğlu.

2- With the operation to fracture the IYI Party, he caused Meral Akşener, whom he called 'my sister' and who had nominated him for president, to declare war. Akşener sees the center that carried out the operation against the IYI Party as Saraçhane, and knows Ekrem İmamoğlu as the leader of the operation.

İmamoğlu's operation to divide the IYI Party has started to have a boomerang effect. It could turn around and hit Ekrem İmamoğlu. Akşener announced it; the IYI Party will field mayoral candidates in Istanbul and Ankara. Given that their vote share in Istanbul is 8 percent, if half of them do not vote for Ekrem İmamoğlu, his re-election will be in danger."
