Akşener had pointed to the GİK: Cooperation statement from Özel
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel attended the 2-day Antalya camp organized by the CHP for the local elections. Responding to journalists' questions there, Özel stated regarding his meeting with Akşener that they respect the GİK's decision, but that he personally hopes for a positive outcome.

I HOPE FOR A POSITIVE OUTCOME
When asked about his expectations regarding his meeting with IYI Party leader Akşener, Özel said, "There is no new agenda from yesterday to today. We had an extremely warm meeting with Ms. Akşener. Now, we are waiting for the IYI Party GİK to evaluate the matter on Monday and for the decision they will make. We are extremely respectful of either decision they may take. I hope that the result will be positive."
Özel also responded to a question regarding an article by T24's Eray Görgülü, which stated that 21 out of 23 district chairs in Ankara said yes to cooperation, by saying: "It would not fit my political courtesy to evaluate the IYI Party's own organization; they will evaluate it themselves."
