Akşener targets CHP members with 'yan gel Osman' remark

While visiting shopkeepers on Saraçlar Street in Edirne, IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener addressed the gathered crowd and set her sights on CHP members. 

Stating that IYI Party's Edirne Mayoral Candidate Hamdi Sedefçi is polling first, the AKP second, and the CHP third, Akşener noted that there have been calls for their candidate to withdraw, stating, "Saying 'Let Mayor Hamdi withdraw, otherwise the AK Party will win' is, to put it simply, shameful."

Addressing CHP members, Akşener said, "Coming here, entering your hearts, and seeking your votes is one thing, but expecting a free ride by saying 'Let the AK Party not win, oh my, Mayor Hamdi is splitting the vote, let him withdraw so we can win'. 

In our Rumelian villages, we call this 'yan gel Osman' (idling away). Get to work, my brothers and sisters," she declared.
