Journalist and author Murat Yetkin stated that the MetroPoll Research company's May poll shows alarm bells for the AKP and a serious warning for the CHP, noting, "The May poll shows that, with undecided voters not yet distributed, the AK Party's raw votes have fallen below 20 percent to 19.2 percent; this rate was 20.6 in April. The CHP's raw votes, which were 23.8 percent in April, appear to have fallen to 22 percent in the May poll."
Noting that the approval ratings of Mansur Yavaş and Ekrem İmamoğlu have risen, Yetkin added, "Erdoğan appears to have lost his third-place spot to CHP leader Özgür Özel. Özel's approval rating appears to have increased by a full ten points in one month, rising from 36 percent to 46 percent."
