DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan answered questions from journalists during a live broadcast on KRT TV.

When asked why they did not join the parliamentary group formed by the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi) and the Future Party (Gelecek Partisi), Babacan replied, "There are many reasons for that preference. There are many reasons why we stood apart and why we are following a different path. But one of the most important reasons is that we attached great importance to having another opposition group in Parliament."

"IT SEEMS VERY LIKELY TO RISE ABOVE 20"

Stating that they are close to forming a separate group in Parliament, Babacan used the following expressions:

"Our current goal and effort is to form a new opposition group in Parliament. We currently have 15 deputies, but it seems very likely that this number will rise above 20 after the elections through new participants or strategic collaborations. We have many ongoing negotiations. Therefore, it is very important that the Saadet and Gelecek group is in Parliament. They represent a political line, and we respect that line. There may be common points, and there may be areas where our policies intersect, but there are also areas where we diverge. If parties completely overlapped, they would not be separate parties anyway."
