Aliyev demands compensation from Russia

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made significant statements at the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum held in Khankendi. Aliyev claimed that the AZAL Airlines plane that crashed on December 25, 2024, was intentionally targeted and stated that they would seek international justice. "Our plane was hit twice, and we have been waiting for an explanation from Russia for seven months," he said. He emphasized that compensation must be paid to the victims' families and to AZAL.

Aliyev also spoke about the Zangezur Corridor planned between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, stating that they are closed to management proposals from US companies. "We will not allow a foreign company to be a manager on our lands," he said.

Criticizing the European Union Mission in Armenia, Aliyev claimed that this mission is conducting espionage activities. "They are professional agents and are spying against Iran," he stated.

Providing information on the peace process, Aliyev announced that an agreement had been reached on the text of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He noted that Armenia initially did not accept two articles, but these articles were accepted after Donald Trump won the US elections.

Finally, responding to a question about the use of artificial intelligence, Aliyev said that he does not use it yet, but there are members of his family who do. Touching upon the reconstruction efforts in Karabakh, Aliyev described the infrastructure investments made in the region and said, "We will turn this region into a paradise."
