During an extraordinary session held in the Turkish Parliament, Saadet Party Istanbul MP and Parliamentary Group Chairman Bülent Kaya drew attention to the absence of People's Alliance deputies. Kaya praised the attendance of only Istanbul MP Oğuz Üçüncü from the AKP, while criticizing the absence of other deputies.

Kaya thanked Üçüncü, stating, “There is only one fellow deputy of mine in the Justice and Development Party rows, Mr. Oğuz Üçüncü, I greet you with respect. You are currently in the General Assembly as the sole representative of 272 AKP deputies; I bow before you with respect, and I thank you very much for the respect you have shown to your own legislative proposal.”

Addressing the Parliamentary Bureau's characterization of the opposition's quorum requests as an abuse of rights, Kaya said, “Well, is it not an abuse of rights to be here with only 2 deputies just because there is no quorum call, Mr. Speaker? To be present with only 2 deputies and then to flood the hall during the voting... If you are looking for the true abuse of rights, I suggest once again that you look for it there.” Kaya described this situation as a sign of disrespect for the will of the Parliament.
