With 4 months remaining until the March 31 elections, a surprise meeting took place in Ankara.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş visited IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener.

Stating that he did not discuss the issue of an alliance, Yavaş said, "I do not know if there will be any developments regarding this in the future. I am not in a position to convey anything in terms of content. Because both parties have their own authorized bodies."

Mansur Yavaş made statements to the press following the meeting.

Yavaş said the following:

"Today, I brought the greetings of our esteemed IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener. That is all. I do not know if there will be any developments regarding this in the future. I am not in a position to convey anything in terms of content. Because both parties have their own authorized bodies. I only conveyed that, and now I am leaving. If they deem it necessary later, the party bodies will make a statement."

Describing the meeting as a "courtesy visit," Yavaş noted that he did not enter into the subject of an alliance.
