As discussions regarding the resolution process continue, the claim that SDF leader Mazlum Abdi met with PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan at İmralı has become a topic of discussion in political circles. According to the allegations, messages were conveyed during the meeting regarding the integration process of the SDF with the Syrian administration and the future of the organization.
CLAIMS THAT MAZLUM ABDİ AND İLHAM AHMED WERE TAKEN TO İMRALI
According to a report in the Cumhuriyet newspaper, it was alleged that SDF leader Mazlum Abdi and SDF executive İlham Ahmed were taken to İmralı Island in March to meet with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.
It is claimed that during the meeting, Abdullah Öcalan used harsh language toward the SDF leadership. It was suggested that Öcalan reacted by saying, "You did not understand me."
The report further stated that Öcalan allegedly told İlham Ahmed, "I have reached an agreement with the state here. If it weren't for me, you would have either been captured like the girls in Aleppo or you would have thrown yourself from a building. I saved you."
MESSAGE OF "INTEGRATION WITH THE SYRIAN ADMINISTRATION"
It was also noted that messages were allegedly conveyed during the meeting that the SDF should enter a process of integration with the Syrian administration.
According to reports from behind the scenes, these allegations have also caused discomfort within the AKP. It was stated that party sources expressed serious reservations, particularly regarding the stance of the SDF.
AKP SOURCES: "THE STATE'S STANCE IS CLEAR"
In evaluations made by AKP sources regarding the process, it was emphasized that the issue of laying down arms is a fundamental condition.
Party sources stated, "The laying down of arms is not at the desired level. Öcalan can express what he wants, but this does not change the AKP's policy. The state's stance is clear."
"LAYING DOWN ARMS IS A CONDITION FOR A NEW PHASE"
It was stated that in AKP circles, the laying down of arms by all elements of the organization is considered a "red line."
Sources assessed, "The organization must lay down its arms with all its elements. This is the necessary condition for legal regulations. New steps are difficult without a clear picture emerging."
