As the local elections approach, discussions on alliances and cooperation between political parties continue.
AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala and AKP Election Affairs Head Ali İhsan Yavuz visited the New Welfare Party.
Ala and Yavuz held a closed-door meeting lasting approximately 1.5 hours at the New Welfare Party Headquarters with Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Doğan Bekin and Deputy Chairman Nureddin Gül.
Following the meeting, when asked by a journalist, "Did you have any requests from the other side? Did they have any requests from you?", Doğan Bekin replied, "No. Four rounds of talks have already been held on these issues. Some things were reviewed one last time. Final touches were made to some things. Whatever decision is made at the level of the chairmen, we will abide by it."
Upon a journalist's comment that "It was a warm welcome," Bekin made the following assessment:
"They are our old friends. Beyond politics, these are our brothers with whom we have been together for many years. Of course, we will show a warm welcome. Whether there is an alliance or not, this will not change for us."
Regarding the question, "Will you field mayoral candidates in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir?", Bekin stated, "We cannot say anything about this. Our Chairman will have the final word on this."
