The statements made by Ahmet Türk, who was elected Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality in the March 31, 2024 local elections but was later removed from office, also became a topic of discussion for political figures.

Mustafa Destici, one of the partners of the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı), reacted to Ahmet Türk with a statement on his social media account.

Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici stated in his post, "What Kurdistan, damn it! This is the Republic of Turkey. If you don't like it, you can get out and leave."

Another reaction to Ahmet Türk's post came from Chief Advisor to the President Oktay Saral.

In his post, where he did not mention any names, Saral stated, "Let those who think they are doing politics by ignoring this nation's name, flag, and state know that; there is no state called 'Kurdistan' on these lands, and there will not be. The name of this state is the Republic of Turkey."
