An early election rift in the People's Alliance? MHP remains silent: AKP figure asks, 'Is there mischief afoot?'

Writer Mümtaz’er Türköne, who has roots in the Idealist Hearths and is known for his proximity to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, made significant assessments regarding the new political process in an interview with Cansu Çamlıbel from T24.

Stating that Bahçeli is determined to complete the process he initiated on October 22, Türköne said, "Turkey will go to an early election before the end of 2025."

According to Türköne, the driving force behind this development will be the path President Erdoğan chooses regarding the resolution process. Türköne stated that Erdoğan would undermine the resolution process because it requires a return to the rule of law, and that Bahçeli would play the early election card to prevent this situation.

"IF ERDOĞAN TURNS TO THE RULE OF LAW, HE WILL DESTROY HIMSELF"

Stating that there are two paths before Erdoğan, Türköne said, "The first path is for Erdoğan to continue governing the country by becoming even more authoritarian. The second path is to return to the rule of law. But this path means Erdoğan ending his own rule."

Continuing his words with an ambitious scenario, Türköne noted the following:

"Let's turn this into a scenario... Erdoğan will undermine the resolution process because a return to the rule of law will prune his hegemonic power. Therefore, he will try to end the process with small moves. There is no chance for the resolution process to succeed without a return to the rule of law. In that case, Bahçeli will have to take Turkey to an early election. Because this is the only way to open up this process."

MHP SILENT, TAYYAR REACTS

Following Mümtaz’er Türköne's remarks, there has been no denial or reaction from the MHP front. However, a striking statement came from former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar, a prominent figure in the People's Alliance.

Tayyar, who stated that if the MHP does not object to the issue, the situation will remain in need of explanation as the People's Alliance, commented as follows:

"Mümtazer Türköne has made critical statements:

‘Erdoğan will prune the resolution process, and Bahçeli will take the country to an early election upon this.

If an election happens and the CHP comes to power, the rule of law will come automatically. If there is no other alternative left to make the resolution process successful, Bahçeli will pave the way for this.’

Although Türköne says, 'I haven't spoken with Bahçeli for 4 years, I am not getting inside information from the MHP, I am just interpreting,' the sentences he constructs are more than interpretations; they are like sentences of judgment on behalf of Bahçeli.

He has received no warnings from the MHP due to his ambitious assessments, which he makes as if he were passing judgment on behalf of Devlet Bey.

That is what he says.

The tolerance shown by Devlet Bey, who has even targeted Rasim [Ozan Kütahyalı], naturally increases the risk that Türköne's expressions will be perceived by the public as the MHP's view.

If no objection is raised by the MHP to the claim of an early election and paving the way for the CHP to take power, this situation is in need of explanation for the People's Alliance.

The question that needs an answer is this:
