Ankara responds to Netanyahu's remarks on Turkey: 'Peaceful foreign policy will disrupt the games'

Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran responded to the remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu targeting Turkey. Duran evaluated the comments Netanyahu made in an interview regarding Turkey and Syria as a "new reflection of the Israeli Prime Minister's increasing international isolation, political fears, and delusions."

Duran stated that Netanyahu is attempting to mislead the international public by creating "imaginary threats and enemies," but noted that these attempts are no longer effective. Stating that reactions to Israel's aggressive policies are increasing in the US, the UK, and the international community, Duran expressed that Netanyahu views anti-Turkish sentiment as a "political lifebuoy" due to upcoming elections and domestic political concerns.

According to Communications Director Duran, the policies of the Netanyahu administration extending from Gaza to Syria and Lebanon, its turning a blind eye to settler violence, and the statements of far-right figures have negatively affected Israel's international perception. Duran argued that the Israeli Prime Minister is trying to mask this picture with accusations directed at regional countries, primarily Turkey.

TURKEY'S STANCE

Responding to the question of whether Netanyahu's statements would expand Israel's circle of aggression toward Turkey, Duran said that the international community and regional countries are taking a stance against the "occupier mentality." Duran noted that the Netanyahu administration identifies security not with diplomacy and stability, but with "constant aggression."

Duran rejected the claim that Turkey poses a threat to Israel, emphasizing that Ankara opposes policies that harm regional security and stability. Stating that Turkey is a NATO member and has repeatedly demonstrated its regional and global influence, Duran said that the Israeli government should make efforts for a two-state solution that would end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict instead of making threats.

Duran also mentioned that there are reactions within Israeli domestic politics to Netanyahu's anti-Turkish rhetoric, stating that the opposition finds these statements "irresponsible, extreme, and foolish" and that they have caused concern in society. Duran expressed that even Israeli politicians have stated that Israel has lost many of its allies.

''As Turkey, we will continue to fight against the destabilizing activities of the genocidal Netanyahu and stand by all states that pursue a peaceful policy in our region, especially in Syria.''

Duran stated that Turkey is a "cautious, cool-headed, and powerful" country, adding that Ankara will continue its line that prioritizes peace and stability in the region. Duran used the expression, "No one can disturb the peace of our nation and our friends. Turkey will never allow this."
