Another reaction to the Can Atalay decision comes from Davutoğlu: 'We are heading toward a state of unconstitutionality'

The Felicity Party and the Future Party held a joint parliamentary group meeting. 

Taking the floor first, Felicity Party Group Deputy Chairman Bülent Kaya stated the following regarding Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Bekir Bozdağ's move to strip imprisoned Hatay TİP deputy Can Atalay of his parliamentary status:

"NO ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY HAS BEEN GRANTED EXCEPTIONAL POWER"

"The Constitution and laws specify how disputes are to be resolved. When any dispute arises, the position of the Constitutional Court is that of the decision-making authority that resolves disputes, while the position of other public institutions is merely that of a party to the dispute. The Constitution does not grant any institution or person the authority to oversee the decisions of the Constitutional Court. No administrative authority has been granted any exceptional power regarding this matter. This exception is not Mr. Tayyip Erdoğan, this exception is not Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş. This exception is not Mr. Bekir Bozdağ" 

"THERE WILL BE NO LAW IN PRACTICE"

Speaking after Kaya, Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu stated the following:

"The Can Atalay issue has begun to gain symbolic importance. What happened yesterday is the disregard of the Constitution. In short, I will say that we are rapidly heading toward a state of unconstitutionality. This must be resolved.

I am sure of this: no AK Party member, including Numan Kurtulmuş, could stomach such a thing unless an instruction came from Beştepe, but I am also sure that their personalities have been so crushed and their moral consistency in the face of power so eroded that they no longer have the strength to resist on any issue."
