CHP Çorum Central District Chair Resul Yiğitoğlu has announced his resignation from his post. In a written press statement, Yiğitoğlu stated that he made the decision of his own free will and announced that he would no longer be involved in active politics.

In his statement, Yiğitoğlu expressed that he did not view politics as a means to obtain office, but rather as a way to serve the nation and his party. Stating that he acted with this understanding throughout his tenure, Yiğitoğlu said that his decision did not stem from any compulsion, but from his own conscience.

Using the phrase “Throughout my life, I have never been a slave to any office, any seat, or any title” in his statement, Yiğitoğlu noted that he is leaving his post with his “head held high and a clear conscience.”

Thanking party members, his colleagues with whom he worked, and his fellow citizens who supported him, Yiğitoğlu emphasized that his decision is final. Noting that he will no longer be involved in active politics, Yiğitoğlu stated that he will nevertheless continue to “stand by his nation and his country.”

Concluding his resignation statement with the words, “I have never been one of those who cling to a seat. Today, I am leaving my post with the same belief and the same dignity,” Yiğitoğlu asked for forgiveness from those who contributed to the process.
