İbrahim Uzun, who has served as the İYİ Party Niğde Provincial Chair since 2018, announced his resignation in a press statement.

"THIS IS DISRESPECTFUL"

Stating that a person intending to become a candidate for the Niğde Mayoralty went to the Headquarters to demand the dismissal of the current administration and that Chairwoman Akşener accepted this request, Uzun explained his resignation as follows:

"Until today, I have fought a great struggle in my position alongside my valued companions. We performed our duties with honor and walked the path we believed in with honor. All the effort and struggle we have given for the sake of our party and our cause is well-deserved. We have a local government election ahead of us; while we, as the Niğde provincial and district organizations, were in the process of evaluating our fellow candidate hopefuls, one of our colleagues disregarded our provincial and district organizations, our board of directors, and our members, ignoring all the efforts made and committing a great act of disrespect by bypassing us and submitting his candidacy application for the Niğde Mayoralty directly to the Headquarters. In addition to this disrespect, he saw himself as greater than the cause and the people who have given their labor and heart to the cause, stating that he would only proceed if the current administration were dismissed. Statements such as 'I do not want to work with the current administration and members; I and my team will handle these matters' are unacceptable.

These calculations are issues deeply orchestrated against our party. Do not forget that if you have a plan, the voters who have given their hearts and votes to the İYİ Party in Niğde will also have a plan. As a party member and as the provincial chair, I never accept this disrespect and these secret agendas. The Niğde provincial and central district administration, the Provincial Board, and other units never and under no circumstances accept this injustice and these calculations made behind closed doors. As of today, I am resigning from my position as the İYİ Party Niğde Provincial Chair, which I have held since 2018."
