'Applause' controversy in Parliament following the death of 12 martyrs
During the budget negotiations in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), an 'applause' controversy erupted between the AKP and the IYI Party while commemorating the 12 soldiers martyred by PKK terrorists.

According to the report in Cumhuriyet, when AKP Ordu Deputy İbrahim Ufuk Kaynak said during his speech, “This American empire—pardon my language—wants to take over the world from us by force, it wants to use all our resources alone while looking us straight in the eye, and the only country on earth standing against this is Turkey, the only leader is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,” applause broke out from the AKP benches.
IYI Party Group Deputy Chairman Erhan Usta said, “Mr. Speaker, let it be on the record that when Erdoğan is mentioned, mourning and sorrow seem to vanish. This shame is enough for our colleagues.”
REACTION FROM IYI PARTY TO DEM PARTY AS WELL
A verbal altercation also occurred after some DEM Party deputies spoke in Kurdish at the podium. IYI Party's Hasan Toktaş reacted to the DEM Party members, saying, “Why were our soldiers martyred? Was it so that Kurdish propaganda could be persistently and systematically conducted from this podium?”
