April 23 call from Ekrem İmamoğlu: 'Let's wave the Turkish flag everywhere'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and Republican People's Party (CHP) presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu made a meaningful call for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day from Silivri Prison, where he is being held.

İmamoğlu invited all of Turkey to take action for 'justice, peace, tranquility, and equality' on April 23.

"LET OUR FLAG WAVE EVERYWHERE"

İmamoğlu requested that the public across Turkey wave the Turkish flag specifically for April 23. In his statement from prison, he issued the call by saying, "Come, let us all together, from April 23 to May 19; in our homes, workplaces, villages, cities, cars, on your mobile phones, in other words, everywhere... Let us wave our glorious moon-and-star Turkish flag."

The message shared from İmamoğlu's social media account is as follows:

"My dear nation, my very valuable citizens; Today, I want to make an important call to you from my cell in Silivri.

-For justice, peace, tranquility, and equality,

-For an economy that produces, earns, and shares fairly,

-For a clean environment and fertile lands,

-For our democracy and our Republic,

-For generations with free minds and free consciences,

-Most importantly, for our children and our youth, that is, our future, come, let us all together, from April 23 to May 19; in our homes, workplaces, villages, cities, cars, on your mobile phones, in other words, everywhere...

Let us wave our glorious moon-and-star Turkish flag."
