Arrest warrant issued for Esenyurt DEM Party Co-Chairs Abdullah Arınan and Rojda Yılmaz

Esenyurt DEM Party District Co-Chairs Abdullah Arınan and Rojda Yılmaz, who were detained and referred to the prosecutor's office on the grounds that they were members of the PKK terrorist organization, have been referred to the court with a request for their arrest on charges of being a member of an armed terrorist organization and engaging in terrorist organization propaganda.

SO-CALLED COMMEMORATION EVENT FOR GÜLŞEN ATALMIŞ

Within the scope of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office aimed at preventing and exposing the activities of the PKK/KCK armed terrorist organization, it was determined that a so-called commemoration event was held at the DEM Party Esenyurt District Building for an individual named Gülşen Atalmış, who joined the organization's rural structure from Bitlis in 1992 and was neutralized in 1995.

Following an operation conducted regarding the matter, materials used in the so-called commemoration event, numerous banned publications, and photographs of the terrorist ringleader were seized during searches at the district building, and Esenyurt DEM Party District Co-Chairs Abdullah Arınan and Rojda Yılmaz were apprehended and detained as a result of the operation. After completing their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. The suspects, who gave their statements to the Prosecutor's Office there, were subsequently brought before the duty magistrate with a request for their arrest on charges of 'being a member of an armed terrorist organization' and 'engaging in terrorist organization propaganda.'
