In the second hearing held today regarding former AKP Bağlar Mayor Hüseyin Beyoğlu—who was detained last year as part of a bribery investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and released under judicial control, and whose real estate assets along with those of 15 other suspects, as well as a large amount of foreign currency and gold seized during searches, were provisionally confiscated one week ago—a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Following the denial of reports that Hüseyin Beyoğlu, the AKP member appointed as trustee to the Bağlar Municipality in the previous term, had exhausted the 2020 budget allocation in the first 6 months and incurred debt, documents emerged showing that he had received authorization from the Municipal Council 3 times to borrow a total of 160 million TL.
