The process regarding a potential primary and the determination of a presidential candidate continues within the CHP. Most recently, CHP leader Özgür Özel had sent a message regarding candidate selection, stating, 'It is necessary to determine the candidate early for an early election.'
MANSUR YAVAŞ IS RESERVED ABOUT EARLY CANDIDATE SELECTION
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, on the other hand, had stated that he was reserved about determining a presidential candidate early. In a statement he made in recent days, Yavaş underscored that the country's real agenda is the economy and the cost-of-living crisis.
In a statement on Monday regarding the presidential candidacy debates, Yavaş said, 'I am of the opinion that it is too early to determine a candidate. The election date is not set. Conditions in Turkey will change by then.'
Yavaş also added, 'I am of the opinion that, while this economic hardship exists, candidates should not exhaust each other's energy, and society should not be preoccupied with this. I think all political parties, especially the opposition, should collectively address the deep poverty being experienced today.'
A NOTEWORTHY MESSAGE FROM İMAMOĞLU
