Ayhan Bora Kaplan case: 'Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Süleyman Soylu met in Ankara'

Sözcü columnist Aytunç Erkin wrote that former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu and President Erdoğan met regarding the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case.

"There are three or four issues on the agenda in the corridors of Ankara. Let us recall the words of Serdar Sertçelik, the secret witness in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case and the alleged second-in-command of the organization, regarding the conspiracy he claims was 'set up against him and high-level AKP figures'," wrote Erkin, adding, Sertçelik said, “They were going to create a secret witness one way or another, that was clear. I accepted it. To save myself and my family, and to prevent the files that were going to be dumped on me and my brother. Later on, they created a 19-page secret witness statement by pressuring and threatening me, without my will, saying ‘Should we put this name in? Let’s put it. Did this event happen like this? It happened’ by naming names themselves.

'YOU WILL ADD IT TO YOUR SECRET WITNESS STATEMENT'

‘Bekir Bozdağ, Mücahit Aslan, Abdülhamit Gül, Fahrettin Koca, Sadık Soylu... A template will be created regarding these names. We will sit down and talk about these with them as well. You will also add these to your secret witness statement,’ I was told. How can I save myself when these individuals are added?

When I use the names of these individuals, I am trying to understand how I can do these things under the power of the AK Party. Because there is a war going on within themselves. I cannot understand what is happening,” recounting these words, Erkin continued his article:

I wrote yesterday: “Bekir Bozdağ met with Yerlikaya first and then with Erdoğan, and Erdoğan intervened in the situation.” I said: “AKP Deputy Bekir Bozdağ, whose name was mentioned in Serdar Sertçelik’s posts, met with Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.

He asked what kind of work they were doing on this matter.

He did not get a result from his meeting with Minister Yerlikaya. Bozdağ then requested an appointment from President Tayyip Erdoğan and explained the situation. Erdoğan also intervened in the situation.”

SOYLU MET WITH ERDOĞAN

Sharing the information that "I have reached another striking piece of information regarding the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case," Erkin noted the following:

"A surprise meeting took place in Ankara last Saturday. Former Interior Minister and AKP Istanbul Deputy Süleyman Soylu met with President Tayyip Erdoğan. They said the reason for Soylu's visit was the three police chiefs who were dismissed on May 9 in connection with the Kaplan case.

Because it has been frequently reported in the media that Ayhan Bora Kaplan was a figure close to Süleyman Soylu. It is alleged that the former Interior Minister told Erdoğan, “I do not think the conspiracy intended to be set up against me and other friends is limited to just three police chiefs. Who or who is behind it? These must be uncovered.”

It is being discussed in the corridors of Ankara that President Erdoğan told Soylu that 'he is following the matter closely and that he called Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and spoke with him.'
