Bahçeli defends Celal Adan, who used profanity in Parliament: 'His accurate words are our words'
Speaking at his party's group meeting, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli addressed the profanity used by Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Celal Adan against HEDEP MP Sırrı Sakık, stating: "The accurate words of our Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and Istanbul MP Mr. Celal Adan, who bravely gave the response deserved by a registered separatist who made a treacherous speech in the TBMM last week, are our words."

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli spoke at his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
The highlights of Bahçeli's statement are as follows:
"I commemorate with respect, gratitude, and mercy the blessed memories of the distinguished leader of our War of Independence, the founder of our Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and all our heroes. The final result of the National Struggle is the fully independent Republic of Turkey. October 29, 1923, was not easily achieved. The windows of the First Assembly were without glass, there were no tiles on its roof, and the interior plaster had not been applied.
"THE REPUBLIC WAS FOUNDED UNDER DIFFICULT CONDITIONS"
There was a crack in the wall behind the presidential podium. Desks had been brought from schools, and a wood stove had been installed. At that time, there were no houses for rent in Ankara, and even if there were, there was no money. The deputies were sleeping and living in a 25-person ward at the teachers' school. 50 kuruş had been collected per deputy, and a table d'hôte system had been established. We did not bow down to the seven great powers, and the Republic was founded under these difficult conditions.

"SUPERIORITY IN SPACE AND TIME WILL PASS TO TURKEY"
Dear Atatürk defined the Republic in his Nutuk (Speech) as a 'people's government based on the principle of national sovereignty,' expressing it in a vital way. A struggle without a goal, without excitement, has no chance of success. Our dear nation, which showed the resilience to cope with heavy problems instead of surrendering to them, has not deviated from its historical direction and will. It has never given up on protecting its country and state. We are currently at a new threshold of Turkish history. We are at a point of destiny and intersection. We are prepared and full of faith to read the decree of the Turkish Nation and the Turkish State to the world in the coming century. In the new century, superiority in time and space will pass to Turkey. The orbit of the new century will be Turkey. The Turkish and Turkey Century has begun.
The Turkish Nation has identified with the Republic. On Sunday, October 29, 2023, the celebrations were held in a festive atmosphere and with immense enthusiasm. Torchlight processions, mass marches, and demonstrations shone like the inextinguishable torch of our national unity and solidarity.
Our jets flying in the air, our heroic soldiers marching on the ground, and our warships passing through the Bosphorus in sequence have instilled confidence in friends and fear in enemies. Our will, which will not say 'okay' to occupations and invasions, has been warned to the world. The final sentences of dear Atatürk's 10th-year speech were: "The forgotten great civilized ability of Turkishness will rise like a new sun on the high civilization horizon of the future." I once again celebrate the October 29 Republic Day of the dear Turkish Nation and you, my esteemed friends.
"IT HAS CARRIED A PIONEERING QUALITY"
The Turkish Nation will also leave its mark on the new century. Moreover, our goal is tasked with serving the realization of this target. I believe that the understanding and goals of the founding years of the Republic of Turkey will be a point guide in the new century. Our nation, which was exposed to terrible dangers through the destruction, harassment, and abandonment of the internal and external occupation front, found the opportunity to determine its future with the proclamation of the republic. It also carried a pioneering quality for oppressed nations. The Republic of Turkey State has built its sovereign rights and borders on a historical experience approaching a thousand years. The Republic is not the establishment of a new regime, but a new stage of sociocultural development and the process of nation-building. The Republic is the best system that develops democracy. The Republic of Turkey is reaching high democratic standards step by step. Those who turn to denialism contrary to this are irresponsible and lack common sense.
A democracy questioning was heard from the opposition wing at the same time and with similar sentences. Political opportunists, ignorant of democracy, have simultaneously voiced their intolerance, which they have internalized as potential indigestion towards the republic, through word games. CHP Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu, in a speech, once again trying to nail a board that is already rotten, said, 'When we crown the Republic with democracy in the second century, then we will rebuild a peaceful, secure, and culturally sound Republic.' He is moving without taking a break because he is struggling with contradictions. How will the Republic stand without democracy? What kind of logic can explain the deprivation of democracy in a Republic based on popular sovereignty?"
Atatürk had practically given a message to people like Kılıçdaroğlu in his Nutuk: "Do not ever assume that future generations will be surprised to see that on the day of the proclamation of the Republic in Turkey, those who claim to be republicans were among the first to attack it most mercilessly!"
HARSH RESPONSE TO AKŞENER
The IYI Party Chair also made a blunder, once again revealing that she is poor in politics and ideas. The crisis is not in democracy, but in the parties that have lost their identity and meet in the opposition position against Turkey. It is a shameful scandal that the IYI Party Chair, who told her friends to 'Damn you' at her party's grand congress, now approaches Muslim and Arab countries with the same style. It is impossible not to be surprised by her words towards us last week. We do not have a life to be put in a pocket like money, a wallet, or a report card; we have a life to be sacrificed when necessary! The suggestion to put the lives of those who pocketed suspicious money into their pockets is a kind of confession and is enough to disgrace its owner.
DEFENDED CELAL ADAN
Deputy Speaker of the TBMM Mr. Adan, who bravely responded to a registered separatist who made a treacherous speech in the TBMM last week, is not ownerless, he is not alone. Attacks, calls for resignation, and insults are under our feet and are void. Let those who come to the Assembly podium and try to show us courage with the nonsense they have behind them come to their senses; I will take their wits! If we start telling the truth, they won't be able to walk even in Diyarbakır, let alone the streets of Ankara! It is impossible for the Turkish nation to be turned into a personality-less and unconscious society that is ashamed of its roots and history, and to be transformed into a cowed and faded community by targeting its social fabric.
