Bahçeli's advisor signals resumption of operations in Syria: Message to SDF that 'your end is approaching'
Yıldıray Çiçek, an advisor to MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, stated that the YPG/SDF has failed to comply with the 'March 10 Agreement' signed with the Syrian government, emphasized that Turkey will not make concessions, and warned that a process similar to Operation Olive Branch could occur again.

Yıldıray Çiçek, an advisor to Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and chief columnist for Türkgün newspaper, argued that the YPG/SDF has not complied with the "March 10 Agreement" signed with the Syrian government. Emphasizing that Turkey will not make concessions on this matter, Çiçek recalled Bahçeli's words that "the end will be dire" and pointed out that a process similar to what was experienced during Operation Olive Branch could happen again.
“YPG/SDF HAS NOT COMPLIED WITH ANY ARTICLE OF THE AGREEMENT”
Çiçek stated that the YPG/SDF has not complied with the March 10 Agreement and said that Turkey will not make concessions in this regard. Claiming that the YPG/SDF is trying to pave the way for initiatives such as autonomy or a federation, Çiçek expressed that these steps serve the regional goals of the US and Israel. Çiçek also emphasized that because the YPG/SDF did not comply with the March 10 Agreement signed with the Syrian government, its failures in this process run counter to Turkey's interests.
“A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION INVESTED IN BY THE US AND ISRAEL”
Defining the YPG/SDF as "a terrorist organization that the US and Israel have been investing in for years," Çiçek alleged that this group's activities in the region are shaped specifically in line with the interests of America and Israel. Stating that the YPG/SDF has formed a coalition consisting of Kurds, secular Arabs, Christians, and different ethnic backgrounds, Çiçek quoted Mazlum Abdi regarding this structure: “The SDF is a coalition consisting of Kurds, secular Arabs, Christians, and different ethnic backgrounds.”
The Türkgün newspaper chief columnist argued that the YPG/SDF has no other option but to comply with the March 10 Agreement. Saying, "There is no option for the YPG/SDF other than complying with the March 10 Agreement," Çiçek stated that a process parallel to the one in Operation Olive Branch could be experienced again. Recalling Bahçeli's words, "Otherwise, the end will be dire," Çiçek stated that the YPG/SDF's efforts toward goals not accepted by Turkey will remain fruitless.
“THE END THE YPG/SDF DESERVES IS APPROACHING”
Stating that Turkey continues its determined stance toward the YPG/SDF, Çiçek used the expression, "The end the YPG/SDF deserves is approaching." Arguing that the US and Israel support this structure in the region, Çiçek said this could negatively affect security balances in the region.
“CONTINUATION OF OPERATION OLIVE BRANCH IS POSSIBLE”
Evaluating Trump's praise for Turkey and Syria to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Çiçek stated that if this does not contain hypocrisy, a process could be experienced where the US cannot make a move against Turkey's determination, just as it was in Operation Olive Branch. Çiçek also took into account the US policy regarding the training and equipping of the YPG/SDF.
“PROTECTING THE YPG/SDF IS US STATE POLICY”
Stating that the investment the US has made to protect the YPG/SDF has become state policy, Çiçek emphasized that this should not be ignored. Stating that Turkey needs to display a clear stance on this issue, Çiçek underlined that the future of this terrorist group depends on Turkey's attitude by saying, "The end the YPG/SDF deserves is approaching."
Referring to Bahçeli's New Year's message, Çiçek included the following statements: “It is in everyone's common interest for the SDF/YPG to stop being Israel's hitman and become a part of Syria in accordance with the March 10 Agreement. Otherwise, the end of any preparation that threatens the security of Turkey and regional countries will be dire for its perpetrators and actors.”
