Bahçeli's advisor Yıldıray Çiçek to pay compensation to Kılıçdaroğlu: Harsh words from Çelik

Yıldıray Çiçek, Press Advisor to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, announced in his column in the MHP's publication Türkgün that he will pay compensation to former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Republican People's Party lawyer Celal Çelik reacted sharply to Çiçek.

It has been decided that Yıldıray Çiçek, Press Advisor to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, will pay compensation to former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

"THERE IS SOMETHING STRANGE ABOUT THIS..."

In his column in the MHP's publication Türkgün, Çiçek stated the following:

"Last week, I wrote an article pointing out the legal absurdities in the compensation lawsuits filed against our writings and showing the inconsistencies with examples. On the day that article was published, the results of the compensation lawsuits that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu filed against 4-5 of my articles collectively also arrived. According to the ruling against us there, I am asked to pay compensation equal to 7 times my salary. This is the order established by saying 'The judiciary is not independent, the judiciary is under the pressure of the People's Alliance'... During the days when we were extremely critical of President Erdoğan, a total of 38 compensation lawsuits were filed due to what we wrote, and while I had paid a small amount of compensation in only one of those cases, today a decision was made for me to pay compensation equal to 7 times my salary to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. While this happened to me in only one of 38 cases during President Erdoğan's sole rule, I am being sentenced to pay compensation in all 5 cases of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who has been wiped from politics. There is something strange about this..."

"SO-CALLED MEMBER OF THE PRESS..."

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Republican People's Party lawyer Celal Çelik used the following expressions in a post on his social media account:

"The lawsuit we filed due to the slander and insults directed at our 7th Chairman Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the Republican People's Party by the so-called member of the press, the despicable Yıldıray Çiçek, has concluded. We won the case. A compensation of 75,000 TL was ordered. We will continue to fight and hold them accountable..."
