BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici: 'If they run municipalities like individuals appointed by a terrorist organization, the state will do what is necessary'

Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici attended the opening of his party's Muğla provincial office.

Making statements regarding the current agenda at the opening, Destici targeted the municipalities governed by the DEM Party.

Destici said, "If they attempt to run the municipality not as elected mayors as in the past, but like individuals appointed by the organization, the PKK; if they do not allow our National Anthem to be read as in Mardin, if they remove our crescent-and-star red flag from the Municipal Council as in Diyarbakır, if they erect statues of terrorists and hold official openings, of course, the state will not watch this and will do what is necessary."

"WE WILL CONDUCT THE NECESSARY SELF-CRITICISM"

BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici, while touching upon the March 31 local elections, said, "We have left another election behind. Of course, we are a part of the People's Alliance. We participated in the elections with this sensitivity and in cooperation. As the Great Unity Party, we emerged from the places where we ran independently by winning one provincial, 15 district, and nearly 10 town mayoralties. But we are content with the nation's appreciation. Our nation's preference is held in high regard. Of course, both as the Great Unity Party and as the People's Alliance, we will conduct the necessary self-criticism. We will study our homework and lessons well, and we will compensate for this in the upcoming general elections and emerge as the winners again. The Great Unity Party is a party of Turkey. It is the Turkish nation itself. The latest local election results have also revealed this. The Great Unity Party has won district mayoralties in Şırnak, in the Black Sea, in the Eastern Anatolia Region, in the Southeastern Anatolia Region, in the Central Anatolia Region, in the Marmara Region, and in the Mediterranean Region. When we are united, when we are together, no one will be able to stop this march of ours, and we have never allowed and will never allow anyone to stop it."

"LIKE INDIVIDUALS APPOINTED BY THE PKK..."

Destici said, "We are not among those who speak differently in the West and differently in the East. Whatever we say here, we said the same there. We said the same regarding the mayors elected in that region. Look, you have been elected; if you comply with the state's constitution and laws, if you recognize the principles I have listed, our flag, and our anthem, if you distance yourselves from terrorism, there is no problem, you will continue your duty. But if not, if they attempt to run the municipality not as elected mayors as in the past, but like individuals appointed by the organization, the PKK; if they do not allow our National Anthem to be read as in Mardin, if they remove our crescent-and-star red flag from the Municipal Council as in Diyarbakır, if they erect statues of terrorists and hold official openings, of course, the state will not watch this and will do what is necessary. They will make the decision themselves. But if they comply, there is no problem. They will continue to perform their duties."

HE SPOKE ABOUT STRAY DOGS

Stating that they hold the same thoughts now regarding stray dogs as they did before the election, Destici said, "In Kocaeli, our Governor Seddar Yavuz made a statement regarding the collection of stray, aggressive dogs and the clearing of streets from these dogs. I thank him. We have kept this issue on the agenda both before and after the election, and we gave our word to our nation. That the Great Unity Party will definitely and absolutely clear these streets of aggressive dogs in the municipalities it wins. Just yesterday in Kozan, Adana, an elderly aunt of ours lost her life after an attack by stray dogs. Now, when we say this, so-called animal lover associations attack us. My brother, we do not love animals less than you do. We are saying let's clear the streets of dogs. Of attacking dogs. We go to Europe, we go to America, we go to other countries. For God's sake, in which country are there this many stray, aggressive dogs? Our municipalities must definitely collect them, build shelters for them, and if necessary, such facilities should be built in the forest and they should be neutered."
