BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici: 'Stray, aggressive dogs should never roam the streets...'

Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici paid a series of visits in Kırşehir. Destici first visited İsmail Çanakçı, who was elected Mayor of Özbağ from his party, to offer his congratulations. He then addressed citizens in front of the municipality building.

Pointing out that one of the most important agenda items discussed in Turkey in recent days is stray dogs, Destici stated that they were the first to make a statement and proposal on this issue 4 months ago, and that they had also included it in their election manifesto.

Stating that the issue of stray dogs is currently one of Turkey's main agenda items and that a law is being prepared in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Destici said:

"It is expected that this draft will be prepared and brought to Parliament before this term ends, and that it will be enacted. We have taken a clear stance. We said, 'In the municipalities handed over to us, we will make preparations within 1 month, and we will not allow aggressive dogs to roam the streets in a stray manner.' It is mentioned that there are more than 400 thousand stray dogs in İzmir. It is said that there are more than 200 thousand in Istanbul and over 100 thousand in Ankara. What needs to be done? Stray, aggressive dogs should never roam the streets; there should be no ownerless dogs, and owners must keep them leashed. Currently, Turkey is listed among countries with a high risk of rabies. In the last period, more than 3 thousand traffic accidents occurred due to hitting a dog or a dog running onto the road; 55 people lost their lives and more than 5 thousand people were injured in these accidents. Almost every day there is a dog attack incident. The state must find a solution to this and must definitely resolve this matter."

Later, Destici visited Governor Hüdayar Mete Buhara in his office and then moved on to Mucur.

Visiting Ali Şahin, who was elected Mayor of Mucur from his party, to offer his congratulations, Destici addressed the citizens gathered in front of the municipality.

Destici drew attention to the fact that Israel has been bombing Gaza since October 7 before the eyes of the world, that 35 thousand people have officially lost their lives, with the real figure being 45 thousand, and that more than 15 thousand of these are children.

Touching upon the austerity measures, Destici said, "You look and see a trip to Rome with 70 journalists, other travels and visits with large convoys, and those who still receive 2-3 salaries continue."

Emphasizing that there are also issues in the TBMM where savings should be made, Destici said, "Since we are implementing austerity measures, there are billions of liras paid to political parties from the treasury. What do political parties do? Luxury buildings, employees, the best cars, gasoline for those cars, travels, eating, drinking, flags. What is the need for this, my brother? Since austerity measures have been announced, at least the treasury aid given to political parties should be abolished for the next 3 years until the election and should be included within the scope of austerity measures."
