As the local elections approach, political parties have accelerated their efforts.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has pointed to the end of December for the announcement of primary metropolitan mayoral candidates.

A striking claim has been made regarding the AKP, where the candidate determination process has begun to be discussed.

ERDOĞAN HAS CROSSED OUT 6 NAMES

According to a report by the Türkiye newspaper, known for its proximity to the government, Erdoğan is expected to undergo a major change in the local elections, just as he did on May 14. A radical renewal is on the agenda, especially in the earthquake zone. It is being discussed that Erdoğan is not keen on re-nominating the current mayors in Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Adıyaman, Elazığ, Kilis, and Şanlıurfa, which are under AKP administration.

In Gaziantep, it was noted that Fatma Şahin's success rate in polls is high, and therefore a decision on whether to implement a change will be made in the coming period.

It is said that the initial polls conducted in the region will be compared with current polls and the decision will be made accordingly. Erdoğan, who is conducting a special study for the region, is being very meticulous about new names. Management experience and empathy are primarily sought in the individuals to be nominated.

It is planned to nominate humble individuals who can look at issues with a solution-oriented perspective and who can empathize with the troubles of earthquake victims. Attention will also be paid to ensuring that the candidates are people who can work in a populist and service-oriented manner.
