Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi commented in his column today on the new process that began with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's remarks regarding Öcalan and continued with the terrorist attack on TUSAŞ.
In his article titled "Qandil is resisting Öcalan," Selvi noted the following:
'ÖCALAN'S RIVAL IS QANDIL'
"If Öcalan wants to play a role in the new process, on one side there is a political will that speaks of the 'right to hope' and suggests he come to Parliament to speak at the DEM Party Group meeting, while on the other side, there is a Qandil determined to bury him alive in İmralı. These statements show that the most significant obstacle before Öcalan is the PKK. Öcalan's true rival is Qandil..."
Selvi also addressed "those within the DEM Party" and "within Qandil" by referring to the "Öcalan line."
Selvi asked, "In the face of this picture, what will those within the DEM Party and Qandil who act in line with Öcalan do? Will they remain silent, or will they take action?"
