Bilal Erdoğan, son of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, spoke at an event held at the Pendik Ömer Çam Anatolian Imam Hatip High School.
Bilal Erdoğan, founder of TÜRGEV, addressed the effects of the economic situation in Turkey on family structure during his speech there.
Regarding the decline in birth rates, Erdoğan stated that he does not agree with the common view that "the economy is bad, there is a cost-of-living crisis, and that is why children are not being born." Noting that the number of children decreases as income levels rise, Erdoğan said, "If that were the case, wealthy people would have more children, but they do not."
EFFECTS OF DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGE
In his speech, Bilal Erdoğan also drew attention to the importance of demographic changes. He stated, "There is a new demographic hand grenade out there right now. If we cannot prepare for it, cannot meet it, and cannot understand it, we as a country will truly lose, we will weaken, and we will regress. The future is your future, the future you will live in." Erdoğan emphasized the need to be prepared for these changes.
