Bill approving Sweden's NATO accession passed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey
The protocol for Sweden's accession to NATO has been approved in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). In the vote, which saw the participation of 346 deputies, 287 votes were cast in favor and 55 against.

In the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), group proposals were discussed after group deputy chairs took the floor from their seats.
According to the proposal, the Bill on the Approval of the Protocol on the Accession of Sweden to the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO), along with several other international agreements, was moved to the top of the agenda.
The bill regarding Sweden's accession to NATO was approved in the TBMM General Assembly. In the vote held in the General Assembly, 287 votes were cast in favor and 55 against.
SWEDEN'S NATO MEMBERSHIP PASSED IN THE TBMM
The bill submitted to the TBMM General Assembly, which deems the approval of the protocol on Sweden's accession to NATO appropriate, was passed into law with 287 votes in favor and 55 against.
In the vote, deputies from the AK Party, CHP, MHP, and DEVA Party voted in favor, while deputies from the İYİ Party, Saadet, DEM, TİP, YRP, HÜDA-PAR, DP, and DSP voted against.
NO 'NO' VOTES FOR FINLAND
Deliberations began in the General Assembly on the bill deeming the approval of the protocol regarding Sweden's accession to NATO appropriate.
In the vote held for Finland's accession in March 2023, no political party group had cast a 'no' vote. While the AKP, CHP, İYİ Party, and MHP approved the membership, the HDP, TİP, BBP, DEVA, DP, and ZP did not participate in the vote.
