BREAKING NEWS... A signal of an operation from President Erdoğan? 'Let's see how many more CHP members will perish'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at his party's group meeting. Erdoğan's agenda included investigations into CHP-run municipalities and urban transformation projects.

President Erdoğan arrived in Ankara following his visit to Italy. Erdoğan made statements at the AKP's group meeting after the visit.

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"I greet you with my most heartfelt feelings. I hope our group meeting and our evaluations will be auspicious for our country, our nation, and our democracy. I send my love and greetings to our citizens who are following us. Last Wednesday, we celebrated April 23. I express my gratitude on behalf of all the deputies who have worked and sweated for Turkey's independence from 1920 to the present. On this occasion, I commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal as well as all the deputies in the first parliament with mercy.

'WE WILL NEVER SEEK FAULT IN THE NATION'

Sunday, April 27, was the 18th anniversary of the insolence shown toward the national will. It courageously stood by Turkish democracy. That day, we actually changed the course of history. Behind the failure of the February 7 MİT crisis, the Gezi events, December 17-25, and July 15 lies the courageous stance we took on the night of April 27. The AK Party is a party founded and grown by the nation. If the AK Party has an owner, it is the nation itself. We will never seek fault in the nation; we will always look at ourselves.

'WE WILL FOCUS ON WHAT WE HAVE DONE HALFWAY'

We will focus on what we have done missing or wrong, and what we have done halfway. We will embrace our nation more strongly. God forbid, otherwise, we would turn into one of those parties that melt away like a candle, of which there are countless examples in Turkish political life.

We are on the side that builds, establishes, and directs, not the one that is dragged along, and we will always remain so. Political freeloading is the business of the opposition in our country. Even though they have no vision for their countries, nations, or cities, they are gripped by the desire to come to power in every election. As we saw in the latest example following the 2023 elections, once they get slapped by the voters at the ballot box, they start to belittle the nation. One of the fundamental problems that lowers the quality of Turkish democracy, as I have said before, is the toxic opposition mentality. The CHP is the country's largest opposition party according to the number of seats in Parliament.

They are at least as responsible as the ruling party, at least as much as we are, for increasing society's trust in political institutions, but the person at the head of the CHP thinks he is doing politics with the whispers of FETÖ members. He tries to get on the agenda through cheap means by attacking our Minister of National Education, our Minister of Treasury and Finance, our Minister of Interior, our members of the judiciary, and our security forces. He declares the bribe-takers who wrap around his own party like an octopus to be democracy heroes. He embarrasses his party and his country by crying his eyes out to lying media outlets. The words he utters are completely empty. If you talk about courtesy, it is non-existent. If you talk about style, it is so terrible that whatever we compare it to would be an injustice to that thing.

'HE WAS GOING TO BE PRESIDENT, HE BECAME HISTORY IN A SHADY WAY'

Mr. Özel challenges us whenever it crosses his mind. A person should first look in the mirror. One should measure and weigh oneself. Your level of politics is miles behind even our party representatives in any neighborhood of any of our cities, let alone us. And now, in this miserable state, he has started chasing a presidential candidacy. The previous chairman was also going to be president; he became history in a shady way. Will his breath last until 2028? We will all watch and see.

'THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE TRANSPARENT, THEY BECAME TAPE-RECORDERS'

Until the CHP Chairman pulls himself together, we condemn this person to wallow in his own uncouth style. Remember, there is a famous saying: that which cannot be explained becomes a joke. It is impossible to name what is happening in the CHP in any other way. They were going to be transparent, but they turned out to be tape-recorders. We are not complaining about a CHP that is gradually sinking to the bottom. For the AK Party, an election is a test that starts at dawn every day and never ends. We are marathon runners. I want you to adjust everything accordingly. I expect you to make the wind of the AK Party felt at every hour of the day on the streets, in workplaces, in homes, and everywhere where people are present.

'WE ARE PREPARING FOR URBAN TRANSFORMATION'

We do not have time to waste by answering those who mix their own narrow politics with the responsibilities we have undertaken for the survival of the state and the nation. When necessary, we shoulder the duties they do not perform and turn them into action. We are also preparing for urban transformation. We cannot leave the property and lives of our people in Istanbul to the fate of the incompetent. We have demonstrated this once again with the struggle we have waged since April 23. The CHP chairman, who does not let Istanbul off his tongue, visited the city 5 days later. Even then, he went to take orders from the person to whom he owes his seat. If it had not been interrupted, 600 thousand residences would have been finished and delivered to their owners long ago with urban transformation works, and we would be moving towards the renewal of 1.5 million residences.
