A message from the imprisoned Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was read; CHP leader Özgür Özel delivered the opening speech for the second day of the congress. The election for the Chairmanship began at 15:30. Özgür Özel received all 1,333 valid votes and became the chairman once again.
