The CHP's Istanbul Provincial Congress, held on October 8, 2023, was cancelled by a court order. In line with this decision, the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance removed Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik and his administration from office.
TEKİN APPOINTED AS TRUSTEE
Following the court's decision, Gürsel Tekin was brought in as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency. Tekin officially started his duty following the court order.

Speaking to Sözcü, Gürsel Tekin evaluated the process and made a brief statement. Tekin declared, "We have started our duty."
