The CHP's Istanbul Provincial Congress has been cancelled by a court decision. While the current administration led by Özgür Çelik was removed from office, the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance appointed a 5-member committee led by Gürsel Tekin as trustees.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is expected to arrive in Istanbul after registering the university enrollment of Nehir Zeyrek, the daughter of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek. Özel will first go to the Provincial Presidency building. It was stated that he would then meet with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently imprisoned in Silivri Prison.
