CHP leader Özgür Özel has issued a critical response to statements made by Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek regarding allegations about his assets. Özel stated that he had already addressed the matter previously and responded sharply to Gürlek's claims.

Following Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek's various allegations regarding the assets of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, the debate remains at the center of the agenda. Gürlek claimed that the documents at the center of the allegations were fake, and further alleged that Özel had received bribes from Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek and was raising these claims to obscure the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) case.

CHP leader Özgür Özel responded to these allegations by Akın Gürlek through a statement on his social media account.

Özel stated the following:

"Whatever fear, whatever panic he has fallen into... The so-called 'Justice' minister is passing judgment on the ongoing İBB case. He is confessing himself that he made offers, applied pressure, and used blackmail to make Muhittin Böcek a slanderer. While responding to the documents, instead of showing active-passive real estate from e-Devlet, he attempts to hide what he has quickly sold. For those asking, 'Will you give an answer?' to the slander he is trying to cast at me: I gave that answer five months ago."
