Breaking News... Release decision for 15 detained defendants in IMM case

A release decision has been issued for 15 detained defendants in the corruption case involving the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

In the corruption case filed against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), the court panel has issued a release decision for 15 detained defendants. As the trial continued into its 30th day, a series of developments occurred following the request for release. After the prosecutor requested the release of the defendants, including IMM President Advisor Murat Ongun and several district mayors, the court decided to release the 15 detained defendants.

HEARING AND TENSIONS

The hearing was attended by detained defendants including Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, and Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney. İmamoğlu experienced a tense exchange after the presiding judge did not grant him the floor during the hearing. Upon the judge stating, "We will not grant any privileges," İmamoğlu replied, "I am here as the elected mayor of 16 million people."

RELEASE REQUEST FOR 9 DETAINED DEFENDANTS

During the hearing, the prosecutor requested the release of 9 detained defendants. Among these defendants are prominent figures such as IMM IT employee Emrah Yüksel, Data Specialist İsmet Korkmaz, and IMM Digital Communications Coordinator Ulaş Yılmaz. The prosecutor stated that the release of the defendants was necessary and that risks such as evidence tampering had been eliminated.

RELEASED DEFENDANTS

Following the hearing, the court panel issued a release decision for 15 detained defendants. Among those released are Adem Soytekin, who benefited from effective remorse, and many others. Here are the names of those released:

SUSPECT FILMING IN COURT DETAINED

During the hearing, a suspect identified as E.T. was detained while taking unauthorized footage in the courtroom. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspect for the crime of "taking unauthorized footage during a hearing."

18 PEOPLE RELEASED SO FAR IN THE CASE

A total of 18 people have been released so far in the IMM corruption case. These names include individuals released in previous hearings as well as those newly released.
