Haluk Laçin, who took office as the AKP Muğla Provincial Chair last year, announced his resignation from his post in a written press statement.

The following statements were included in Laçin's explanation regarding the matter:

"I would like to share with you that I am stepping down from my position as the AK Party Muğla Provincial Chair, which I have carried out with great honor and pride, at my own discretion and with the knowledge of our Headquarters. From the very first day I took over this duty, I have considered it the greatest honor to serve our Muğla and our country in accordance with our party's vision, under the leadership of our esteemed Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Throughout my tenure, we worked shoulder to shoulder with our organizations, listened to the problems of our citizens in our districts, and endeavored to produce solutions. At every step, we acted with the awareness of the responsibility our nation has placed upon us. Of course, this is not a farewell; as a soldier of the AK Party family, I will continue to be at the service of my party and my cause at all times. This is a relay race. I have full faith that the friends who will come after us will continue their work with the same determination and resolve.

In this process, I would like to thank our Headquarters, our deputies, our district chairs, our women's and youth branches, our mayors, and every single member of our organization who supported me. I also sincerely thank my fellow citizens of Muğla. I am grateful for the interest, patience, and support they have shown us during my time in office. May God not let us be embarrassed before our nation and our cause. Please grant me your forgiveness. Stay well."
