The CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) convened at 13:00 under the chairmanship of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Following the meeting, which lasted approximately 4 hours, CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı made statements to the public.
Stating that many topics ranging from foreign policy to internal party developments were discussed at the meeting, Sarı made assessments particularly regarding regional developments and the recent process within the CHP.
"VERY IMPORTANT FOR TURKEY"
Müslim Sarı stated that regional developments were evaluated comprehensively at the MYK meeting and drew attention to the importance of Iran's stability for Turkey.
Sarı used the expressions, "Iran's stability is very important for Turkey. At our MYK meeting, we held discussions on supporting regional cooperation."
"TERROR-FREE TURKEY" PROCESS WAS ON THE AGENDA
Touching upon the process referred to as a "Terror-Free Turkey" in his statements, Sarı argued that the process was not progressing as expected.
Stating that sufficient explanations had not been received from the government wing and other political parties on this issue, Sarı said they expect comprehensive legal regulations to be brought to the agenda as soon as possible.
Sarı said, "The process that began regarding a Turkey without terrorism has not progressed at all. Satisfactory explanations regarding this process are not coming from either government circles or other parties. We are monitoring for legal regulations and comprehensive arrangements to be brought to the agenda as soon as possible."
"WE HAVE MADE EFFORTS FOR DIALOGUE SINCE MAY 21"
Making assessments regarding the process within the party, the CHP Spokesperson reminded that they took office by court order on May 21.
Stating that the developments since that date have proceeded with the public's knowledge, Sarı expressed that they have made efforts to conduct the process on the basis of consensus and dialogue.
"LAWYERS CAME TOGETHER"
Müslim Sarı also announced that various initiatives have been taken to ensure contact between the parties.
Stating that the party's lawyers and the other side's lawyers came together, Sarı said that the expected result could not be obtained from the meetings.
"THE HAND WE EXTENDED WAS REJECTED EVERY TIME"
Claiming that attempts at reconciliation within the party did not yield results, Sarı used the following expressions in his statement:
"We did not receive a response to our efforts regarding this matter. There were also well-intentioned initiatives. Our legal experts, as well as the legal experts of the other side, came together. However, these moderate initiatives did not bear fruit. The other side rejected the hand we extended every time."
EXPULSION REQUEST FOR 9 PEOPLE
The most critical statement made by Müslim Sarı after the MYK meeting was the expulsion request within the party. In his statement, Sarı used the following expressions:
We have two issues. One of them is purification... Within the framework of the CHP's purification policy, a necessity has emerged to carry out a screening process on certain points deemed problematic in terms of the party's mission and vision.
Secondly, after the decision of absolute nullity, actions, deeds, and statements were evaluated.
From these two stages, we find ourselves in a position to make a decision on the disciplinary process regarding those friends who have caused the party to be associated with this absolute nullity trouble, who have contributed to a process where congresses and conventions are disregarded, and who are under suspicion regarding this matter.
The decision was taken unanimously.
Nine individuals have been referred to the disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion, with precautionary measures, in accordance with the relevant articles of our party charter. The names referred to the disciplinary board are as follows:
Ensar Aytekin
Ali Mahir Başarır
Gökan Günaydın
Nurhayat Altaca Kayışoğlu
Özgür Karabat
Umut Akdoğan
Veli Ağbaba
Turan Taşkın Özer

Sarı stated that an assessment regarding Özgür Özel will be made at a later time.
