Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made statements following the decision of MHP Deputy Chairman İzzet Ulvi Yönter to step down from his post.

Regarding Yönter's resignation, Bahçeli said the following:

-Mr. İzzet Yönter has stepped down from his position as deputy chairman. He has made valuable contributions.

Mr. İzzet has requested to be excused in order to focus on his academic career in the coming days and to further advance the doctoral degree he has earned. The resignation is not based on any resentment.

-I wish him success in his academic career. A valuable brother of ours will take on the responsibility in a short time. It is necessary to think of what is best for everything.

RESIGNATION STATEMENT DREW MUCH ATTENTION

MHP Deputy Chairman and Central Executive Committee (MYK) member İzzet Ulvi Yönter had announced that he was leaving his post in the party. Yönter's words sparked debate, as he had used the expressions, "Agent who has infiltrated the MHP, we are watching you from every angle. What do you know about honesty! Don't worry, we will definitely settle scores with you... Your money won't work either, you scheming scoundrel..." in a post shortly before his resignation statement.

While this message from Yönter was also reshared by MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın, assessments were made that the expressions in question were directed at Eyyup Yıldız, the chief advisor to MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.

Semih Yalçın, who also published the post Yönter made before his resignation on his own account, later removed this content from his page. However, it was observed that other posts containing support for Yönter continued to remain on Yalçın's account.
