BREAKING NEWS... Will Öcalan meet with journalists? Green light from Justice Minister Tunç

Following the PKK's announcement regarding laying down arms and self-dissolution, the question of "Will Öcalan be granted the right to hope?" which has come to the public agenda, was directed to Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç.

Responding to journalists' questions before the AKP Group Meeting, Tunç stated, "There is no such situation. There is no such issue or discussion on our agenda."

Tunç summarized his remarks as follows:

"The Parliament's agenda includes HSK elections and other matters. We are speaking generally about what needs to be done within the legal framework regarding prison conditions. We can expand the regulations in the Law on the Execution of Sentences. We have shared our work on this matter with our parliamentary group. There is time before the Parliament takes a summer break. There are issues that can be addressed in the execution law. If there is a matter that requires legislation, these are not issues within the authority of the executive branch."

"WE HAVE ELIMINATED THE AREAS THAT PREPARE THE GROUND FOR TERROR"

Stating that the DEM Party visited the Ministry of Justice, Tunç said, "Work on legal regulations is ongoing. We have eliminated all areas that terrorism exploits." Tunç noted that new steps could also be taken within the scope of judicial reforms.

Responding to the question of whether terrorist Abdullah Öcalan could meet with journalists, Tunç said, "Whatever needs to be done within the legal framework will be done."
