Budget negotiations begin in the Turkish Parliament: Minimum wage and developments in Syria are on the agenda
Budget negotiations, which will begin on December 9, will continue uninterrupted until December 20. Millions will have their eyes on the minimum wage negotiations that will take place concurrently with the budget.

The 2025 Central Government Budget Law Proposal will begin to be debated in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly on Monday, December 9. The negotiations will conclude on Friday, December 20. During this period, the Parliament will also be in session on Saturdays and Sundays.
The budgets of public administrations will be discussed in 8 rounds during the budget negotiations. On the first day of the negotiations, deliberations on the budget as a whole will take place, and Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will deliver the presentation speech on behalf of the executive branch.
Political party leaders will also leave their mark on the budget negotiations. Figures such as CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, and Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan will share their views on the budget and current political developments.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli will maintain his traditional stance and will not deliver a speech, instead following the session from his seat. Group Deputy Chairmen Erkan Akçay and Filiz Kılıç will speak on behalf of the MHP.
VISITOR ACCESS WILL BE PROHIBITED
No visitors will be admitted to the Parliament throughout the budget negotiations. At the same time, group meetings will not be held. The negotiations will conclude with a vote on the budget as a whole.
MINIMUM WAGE NEGOTIATIONS BEGIN
In parallel with the budget negotiations, the minimum wage determination process, which millions of workers are eagerly awaiting, will also begin. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will hold its first meeting on December 10.
While the budget negotiations for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice are taking place on December 10, developments in Syria are expected to be addressed. The Ministry of National Defense budget will be discussed on December 13 and is expected to be the scene of significant debates.
