Busy agenda at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey: Legislative proposal debates continue

Following a one-week break, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) is resuming its work with group meetings, committee activities, and press statements. This week, while debates on the Turkey Justice Academy Legislative Proposal continue in the TBMM General Assembly, specialized committees will host important presentations.

LEGISLATIVE PROPOSAL DEBATES CONTINUE

The remaining articles of the Turkey Justice Academy Legislative Proposal, of which the first 10 articles were previously accepted in the TBMM General Assembly, will be addressed on Tuesday, January 28, at 15:00.

Within the scope of the proposal, it is planned that judges and prosecutors who have completed at least 8 years in the profession will be appointed as faculty members to the Turkey Justice Academy by the Minister of Justice. A Law Research Center will be established within the Academy, and an 18-member Education Board will determine the training programs. Furthermore, it is envisioned that training programs for judges, prosecutors, and their assistants will be free of charge.

HERE ARE THE AGENDA ITEMS IN THE COMMITTEES

Specialized committees will continue their work with a busy agenda this week:

Human Rights Inquiry Committee:

The committee, which will meet on Tuesday, January 28, at 14:00, will host a presentation by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu on the topic of "Dangers Directed at Children on Digital Platforms."

Artificial Intelligence Research Committee:

The committee, which will convene on the same day at 15:30, will determine the experts and institutions to be invited to future meetings.

Digital Channels Committee:

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş will deliver a presentation at the committee meeting to be held on Thursday, January 30. On Minister Göktaş's agenda will be the protection of the family and children, as well as social media usage.

PARTY GROUP MEETINGS BEGIN

The AKP, CHP, MHP, IYI Party, DEM Party, and Yeni Yol groups will hold their group meetings during the first days of the week. Both internal party matters and the general agenda will be evaluated during these meetings.
