Cabinet meets today: What is on the agenda?

Millions of retirees and civil servants have turned their eyes and ears to the Cabinet Meeting. The Cabinet will meet today under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. It is noted that the main agenda item of the meeting, where many issues regarding Turkey's domestic and foreign political affairs will be discussed, will be the inflation figures to be announced on July 3.

The Presidential Cabinet will meet with a busy agenda after a break of approximately one month. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will chair the meeting in Beştepe.

MAIN AGENDA IS THE ECONOMY

It is noted that the economy is expected to be the main agenda of the meeting. With the June inflation rate to be announced on July 3, the civil servant salary increase for the second half of the year will be determined. The raise rates for approximately 16 million civil servants, as well as SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, will also become clear.

Austerity measures and the increase to be made to the lowest pension will also be discussed at the meeting. Cabinet members will also be briefed on the new tax draft and the fight against inflation.

Another important topic for the Cabinet will be counter-terrorism operations.

The latest status regarding the 9th Judicial Package is also expected to be addressed at the meeting. Regional developments, Israel's attacks on Gaza, and steps toward achieving a ceasefire will also be on the agenda.

NEW MINISTERS WILL ALSO ATTEND

President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan will travel to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and the United States in July.

The relevant ministers will also present their work regarding the topics likely to be discussed during these contacts to the Cabinet.

Murat Kurum, who was appointed as the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and Professor Doctor Kemal Memişoğlu, who was appointed as the Minister of Health, with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will also attend the cabinet meeting.
